We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students in the Poughkeepsie School District on an as-needed basis beginning in the Fall 2025 school year. The SLP will work with school-aged children to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders, helping them achieve their academic and social potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct speech and language evaluations for students referred for services.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) with measurable speech/language goals.
  • Provide direct therapy to students in accordance with IEP mandates.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support communication development in the educational setting.
  • Provide early intervention and language development support as needed.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of services, progress reports, and compliance logs.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and team discussions as required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid New York State SLP license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • New York State Education Department (NYSED) Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) certification.
  • Experience working with school-aged children in a school setting is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with IEPs and school-based documentation requirements.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday (as-needed basis)
  • School-day hours

Pay Rates:

  • $110/ per hour – individual and group therapy (1 hour mandate)
  • $70/ per hour – Individual and group Speech Therapy Session (30 mins mandate)
  • $65/hour – Paperwork (writing session notes, reports, evaluation reports)
  • $650 (Flat Rate) – Monolingual Comprehensive evaluation (including paperwork)
  • $800 (Flat Rate) – Bilingual Comprehensive evaluation (including paperwork)
